Edvard Kardelj – Directions of Development for the Political System of Socialist Self-Governance (1978)

Written on 23 November 2024 by Radio Yugoslavia

Edvard Kardelj is the father of self-governing socialism and was the top diplomat of YU Yugoslavia, also considered to be one of the closest friends that Tito had. He was planned by Tito to be the successor of the presidency of Yugoslavia, however sadly Kardelj passed away in 1979 because of cancer, one year before comrade Tito passed away.

In this book Kardelj explores and discusses a diverse set of topics regarding the self-governing socialism, how they overcame obstacles and made it stronger and points where it needs to be improved. Unlike traditionalist communist states, Yugoslavia had the privilege to be run by such intellectuals that refined Marxist-Leninist teachings to give the working class everything they wished for, freedom included.
